Meet the Author
Derek Jordanou-Bailey is a chartered mechanical engineer with over 35 years of design and development experience in the automotive, motorsport and aerospace sectors.
He Graduated in 1991 from the University of Nottingham with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree and in 1995 from the University of Warwick with a Master of Engineering and Business Management degree.
With a focus on understanding and applying the fundamentals of engineering and mathematics he dedicates much of his time now to the development of others.
The Obvious Book of Maths
As a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, I have enjoyed many years designing and developing wonderful machines, including Formula 1 racing engines. But without doubt I am happiest when sharing my understanding of engineering and mathematics with others.
This is my first book; it is a heartfelt attempt to provide clear explanations of the mathematics everyone should have.
When reading a book, we can be completely honest with ourselves. Nobody is watching or judging us; if we don’t understand something, we can come back and read it again at our own pace.
No prior knowledge of mathematics is required to use this book, everything you need is within these pages.
This is a very personal journey, where you will develop your own understanding of this beautiful and universal language.
Quite simply, life is better with a little mathematics!
